DESCRIPTION
The Bertram 28 Flybridge launched in 1981 and became Bertram’s best-selling model. It is known for its rugged offshore capabilities and comfortable cabin accommodations. Over 2,200 28 Flybridges were built from 1971 to 1985.
Powerboat guide calls the Bertram 28 Flybridge cruiser is the “best 28-footer ever built.”
The 28 Flybridge was designed for fishermen. With a swim platform, large cockpit the 28 was designed for those who are devoted to fishing, diving, or just socializing on the water.
This Bertram 28 Flybridge was in freshwater only up until 2016. It was then converted to a freshwater cooling system in San Francisco before the current owner bought her in 2019 and brought her up to Everett, WA. The previous owner reported significant repairs on the engines, including head gasket replacement and valve jobs on both engines, and complete replacement of the exhaust manifolds and hoses (likely in 2018).
The flybridge is accessed by a cockpit ladder and has a bench seat and centerline helm station. Down below there are accommodations for four in the cabin. There is a long V-berth with an overhead hatch. Just aft of the V-berth to starboard is the lower helm with a convertible seat from the settee. To port is the U-shaped galley with double sink. Just aft of the galley is a sizeable wet head for a 28 foot boat. Finally there is a convertible dinette to starboard of the head before heading back out to the cockpit.
